The AXiS Heel Stacker is a specialized component designed to adjust the feel and angle of a drummer’s footboard. This precision-engineered component allows you to change your pedal’s action by raising the heel block in 1/4" increments. Two Heel Stackers are provided per order allowing you to find your exact setting. The Heel Stacker provides a lower, more stable point of contact for drummers who prefer a reduced pedal action or a flatter footboard angle.
Our Heel Stackers are available in silver and are compatible with all Longboard and Wideboard generations of AXiS Pedals - no modification or alteration to your pedals! Why does your footboard angle matter?
A flatter footboard (less angle) can increase sensitivity, offering more responsive control, and allowing for lighter, quicker strokes and fast, precise footwork. Additionally, you can get more speed with less effort by playing in a more neutral position which requires less leg muscle engagement, making it easier to maintain speed over longer periods without fatigue. Perfect for drummers who need rapid foot movements while limiting strain, contributing to a more relaxed feel during quick strokes.
A steeper footboard (more angle) allows for more forceful strokes, enabling faster, more powerful foot movements. The steeper angle encourages drummers to use larger muscle groups (e.g. calves) for speed, reducing strain on the foot and ankle. Some drummers prefer this setting for fast, aggressive patterns while enabling quicker, more controlled beater strokes.
